THE TAVERN
THE TAVERN IS A BAR WHERE CELEBRATING BECOMING AN ADULT IS NOT JUST A LEGAL MILESTONE BUT AN EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY. MY DESIGN AIMS TO BLEND THIS CELEBRATION AND EDUCATION, OFFERING A UNIQUE ATMOSPHERE THAT EMBRACES THE ESSENCE OF RESPONSIBLE DRINKING AMONG THE SINGAPOREAN YOUTH. BY INTRODUCING CURATED EXPERIENCES, MY SPACE WILL GUIDE THE YOUTH THROUGH THE WORLD OF ALCOHOL, HIGHLIGHTING IT'S CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE, DIVERSE TRENDS AND THE IMPACT IN LIFE.
THE SHOPHOUSE AT AHL
THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE PROPOSED DESIGN IS TO RECREATE FAMILIAR SPACES WHICH ARE LINKED TO THE EARLY LIVES OF THE DEMENTIA RESIDENTS AT AHL.
USING A COMBINATION OF TRADITIONAL AND MODERN DESIGN ELEMENTS THE EXISTING SPACES CAN BE REUTILSED FOR DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS WHILE RETAINING SOME FAMILIARITY.
THE DESIGN APPROACH ALSO FOCUSES ON BENEFITS OF BIOPHILA AND CREATING MEMORALBLE INTERACTIONS WITH NATURE.
THE NYONYA LAVATORY
THE NYONYA LAVATORY IS A TOILET DESIGN CONCEPT THAT DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM THE VIBRANT AND COLORFUL PERANAKAN CULTURE. THE PERANAKAN PEOPLE ARE A UNIQUE ETHNIC GROUP WITH A RICH HISTORY AND HERITAGE THAT IS REFLECTED IN THEIR ART, FOOD, AND TRADITIONAL COSTUMES.
THE DESIGN OF THE NYONYA LAVATORY IS CHARACTERIZED BY INTRICATE PATTERNS, BRIGHT COLORS, AND A MIX OF DIFFERENT TEXTURES AND MATERIALS. THE WALLS FEATURE ELABORATE TILE WORK WITH GEOMETRIC FLORAL PATTERNS, AND THE TOILET ITSELF IS MADE FROM A COMBINATION OF CERAMIC, WOOD, AND BRASS FIXTURES.
THE GLASS HOUSE
THE GLASS HOUSE IS A MUSEUM WHICH HAS A COMBINATION OF MODERN AND TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE. THE MAIN STRUCRE IS INSPIRED BY TRADITIONAL BRITISH ARCHITECTURE AND THE GLASS ROOF HAS A MORE MODERN LOOK TO IT. THE GEOMETRICAL FORM OF GLASS ROOF HELPS TO BRING IN NATURAL SUNLIGHT AND BRING OUT THE BEAUTY OF THE STRUCTURE.
